Are you available for hire to develop ExpressionEngine sites?
No. I keep busy in my free time creating these add-ons. If you are looking for ExpressionEngine site development, check out The Nerdery, where I work during the day. We have done over 30 EE sites, and other projects of all sorts. We have 175+ insanely talented developers who can do a variety of work.... ExpressionEngine just happens to be one of our go to content management systems.
Why are some add-ons free, and others for sale?
It depends on a few factors. The first, and most important, is whether or not I created it on my free time, if so, then it is probably a paid add-on. If it is free, then I most likely made it to satisfy a need for a client project at The Nerdery, and felt it was useful enough to share with the community. The small fee I charge for my add-ons go toward the initial development and ongoing support that I provide in my free time.
Why the name BoldMinded?
As an art student in college I participated in an online design collaboration, which used the domain boldminded.com. I always loved the name, and for several years the domain was registered but unused. I had an email reminder set for the day it expired, and when it did, I snatched it up. That was in 2007. It sat in my posession with the idea that if I were to ever start my own venture, BoldMinded would the name. Two years later I discovered ExpressionEngine and started building add-ons for client projects. Some of those add-ons were built soley based on the consistent feedback from those clients, such as the inability to easily customize the built in messaging system, hence Custom System Messages, and the consistent confusion around assigning templates to entries, which lead to Blueprints. Wyvern (and it's predecessor, WYMeditor for ExpressionEngine) were built out of my own desire to provide a better usablity experience for the client.
